When you choose to give, you become part of something bigger, something powerful.
Pick how you want to donate
As a nonprofit, we rely on private donations from individuals, business and foundations to provide second chances to the helpless, homeless animals of our community.
$99 Spay and Neuter Program
We believe every pet deserves compassionate care and every family should be able to access it. That belief inspired our $99 Spay and Neuter Program, which provides low-cost surgeries for cats and dogs of any size, male or female, all for just $99. Thanks to generous donors and a dedicated team, this program is available to income-qualified residents of Kittitas and Yakima Counties.
When you donate to this fund, you help us:
Provide $99 surgeries to families who qualify
Reduce shelter intake and prevent animal overpopulation
Ensure affordable access to essential veterinary care
Strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love them
Kennel Sponsorships
One of the most meaningful ways you can support the animals in need is by sponsoring a kennel at the YHS Adoption Center. When you become a kennel sponsor, we'll create a custom sign just for you and place it on the kennel of your choice. You'll have the pride of knowing that you are supporting an organization that protects and cares for over 5,000 homeless animals each year. Personalize your sign as you see fit - your name, your business, or in memory of a beloved family member, friend, or cherished pet. It's entirely up to you!
Emergency Medical Fund
The Emergency Medical Fund enables us to provide life-saving medical care to injured or sick cats and dogs who arrive at our shelter; these animals would otherwise face the possibility of euthanasia without the medical treatment necessary to rehabilitate them. Once rehabilitated, these special pets can be adopted into a new loving home. Your gift gives them a second chance.
The Community Cat Fund supports Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts throughout our Valley. The TNR program is a Ellensburg Humane Society initiative to humanely manage community cats in Kittitas County by providing medical care and spay or neuter services to this underserved population. Community cats (also referred to as "feral" cats) are trapped in neighborhoods around our community, transported to our Spay & Neuter Clinic for surgery, given vaccinations and provided medical care as needed, and then released back to their homes. Your donation enables us to continue this program at a very low cost, which we can pass on to the public. You can help save the lives of countless community cats with your gift.

Love, laundry & a lot of soap.
We always need laundry detergent! Can you believe that we sometimes do more than 500 pounds of laundry per day in the Adoption Center and the Spay & Neuter Clinic to keep the animals clean and comfy? That's a whole of towels, blankets and toys!
But we must keep the animals healthy with fresh, clean laundry daily. Next time you visit the grocery store, please pick up a gallon of liquid laundry detergent - nothing fancy please, since we can't use HE or powdered detergents.
